About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate and prototype ways to deploy and operate Vortex Studio simulations in cloud environments
  • Develop APIs, services, command-line tools, or web applications to configure, launch, monitor, and control remote simulations
  • Build and improve automated deployment workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Develop workflows to collect, transport, store, and expose simulation data and results
  • Explore orchestration and elastic-scaling strategies for synthetic data generation, automated QA, engineering studies, and autonomy experiments
  • Evaluate the performance, scalability, reliability, and usability of proposed approaches
  • Document technical decisions, results, limitations, and recommendations
  • Work with experienced software developers and simulation specialists while contributing to the evolution of the Vortex Studio platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Background in software engineering, computer science, cloud computing, distributed systems, or a related technical field
  • Strong software development skills in Go, Python, or a similar language
  • Familiarity with Linux, containers, networking, and modern software deployment workflows
  • Ability to investigate technical problems independently and turn ideas into working prototypes
  • Interest in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, simulation, or developer platforms
  • Strong English communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Pulumi, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools (asset)
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud (asset)
  • Experience building REST/gRPC APIs, backend services, or web applications (asset)
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, object storage, streaming, observability, autoscaling, or distributed systems (asset)
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, or large-scale compute workloads (asset)
  • Exposure to simulation, robotics, synthetic data generation, game engines, or engineering software (asset)
