About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Pursue spiritual maturity through Scripture, prayer, and worship
- Communicate and model InterVarsity’s vision for student and faculty transformation
- Create a culture of dependence on God and expectation for new witnessing communities
- Lead students and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship experiences
- Set annual qualitative and quantitative growth goals with students, faculty, and staff
- Build leadership teams demonstrating spiritual vitality, relational health, and mission alignment
- Develop, execute, evaluate, and modify ministry plans
- Align programs, structures, conferences, and teams around ministry goals
- Mobilize students and faculty to engage their networks with the gospel and start new missional communities
- Supervise Ministry Interns and Campus Ministry Interns as delegated
- Create opportunities for students and faculty to encounter and follow Jesus
- Equip, disciple, invite, coach, and develop students and faculty as participants and leaders
- Collaborate with local, area, regional, and national InterVarsity staff and volunteers
- Affiliate chapters and submit Graduating Student Forms
- Use national ministry resources and participate in conferences and training
- Complete reporting, planning, and review requirements
- Comply with InterVarsity policies and procedures
- Develop churches, individuals, alumni, and community members as ministry partners
- Raise 100% of the financial budget assigned by the supervisor
- Communicate regularly with ministry partners through visits, calls, emails, and prayer letters
- Develop ongoing partnerships with alumni and volunteers
- Identify and invest in volunteer and donor advocates
- Accomplish other assigned tasks as appropriate
Requirements
What you’ll need- Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement)
- Abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct
- Believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper
- Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation”
- Bachelor’s degree required for CSMs assigned to a four-year campus
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree required for CSMs assigned to a two-year campus or a community college
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software
- Ability to travel to on-campus and off-campus sites as appropriate
- Ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of the assigned salary
