About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, review, standardize, and control documents, including policies, procedures, work instructions, manuals, forms, and other applicable documents
  • Manage the document lifecycle, ensuring version control, approvals, validity, distribution, availability, and archiving
  • Ensure traceability of document changes and proper control of obsolete documents
  • Support departments in identifying the need to create, review, or update documents
  • Guide process owners on the proper preparation and structuring of documentation
  • Evaluate documents for clarity, consistency, standardization, and compliance with established requirements
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the organization’s document standards
  • Track documents throughout the preparation, review, and approval processes, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Maintain the organization and integrity of the document repository
  • Participate in analyses of nonconformities, improvement opportunities, and action plans related to document management
  • Identify opportunities to improve document management structures and workflows
  • Prepare reports related to document management
  • Support the dissemination of guidelines and best practices related to quality management and documentation
  • Collaborate with different departments to promote document integration and standardization
  • Map, model, and standardize quality management processes within the biosafety area
  • Develop internal audit/inspection procedures and corresponding checklists
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documents, records, and evidence
  • Map risks, develop control and mitigation plans, and manage results
  • Support the development and implementation of the communication plan
  • Develop training programs related to quality and management tools
  • Promote continuous improvement to minimize failures, reduce waste, and increase efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, such as Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Medicine, or related fields
  • Completed postgraduate degree in Quality Management, Integrated Management Systems, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, or related fields
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Experience implementing NBR ISO 9001 and other quality-related management systems, such as ONA
  • Experience implementing management systems
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of quality management principles
  • Skills in risk analysis and management based on ISO 31000 – Risk Management
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as PDCA, Kaizen, and DMAIC
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge of quality tools, including 5W2H, SWOT analysis, the Ishikawa diagram, flowcharts, histograms, and Pareto charts
  • Knowledge of ABNT NBR ISO 35001 – Biorisk Management for Laboratories and Other Related Organizations (preferred)
  • Experience delivering lectures and/or training (instructor experience preferred)
  • Availability for domestic and/or international travel (preferred)
  • Availability to attend domestic and/or international courses and training programs (preferred)
