About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare technical opinions from the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and foreign patent and trademark offices
- Conduct prior art searches, patentability analyses, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses
- Engage with researchers to identify research results with potential for intellectual property protection
- Support the processing of patent applications filed nationally and internationally in cooperation with a partner law firm
- Manage deadlines and support the management of the asset portfolio, including patents, trademarks, software, know-how, and other assets
- Work within CNPEM’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Office, which coordinates innovation initiatives, R&D&I projects, technology services, and partnerships with companies, startups, government bodies, universities, and research centers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Languages, International Relations, Law, Innovation, or a related field
- Advanced English proficiency
- Previous professional experience in Intellectual Property
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with procedures and deadlines at patent offices, including INPI and WIPO
- Knowledge of trademarks and patents, trademark registration procedures, and the filing of national patent applications
