About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct active scouting and market intelligence activities, identifying companies, institutions, technologies, trends, and challenges with potential connections to CNPEM’s capabilities
- Map and qualify partnership and innovation opportunities by assessing strategic fit, technological potential, and possibilities for joint development
- Develop and maintain relationships with companies, research institutions, universities, startups, investors, government agencies, and other strategic organizations
- Identify companies’ technological needs and challenges and connect them with CNPEM’s capabilities, researchers, laboratories, and infrastructure
- Structure opportunities for R&D and innovation projects, technology services, joint technology development, technology transfer, and strategic partnerships
- Support the development of value propositions and engagement strategies for different segments and audiences
- Prepare strategic meetings, presentations, briefings, and intelligence materials to support decision-making
- Lead or support meetings with potential partners, diagnosing their needs and identifying collaboration opportunities
- Work closely with researchers, technical experts, and other CNPEM departments to assess the feasibility and potential of identified opportunities
- Manage the opportunity pipeline, keeping information up to date on leads, opportunities, partners, negotiation stages, and next steps
- Produce market analyses, technology intelligence, and trend studies to inform CNPEM’s innovation and relationship strategies
- Support CNPEM’s participation in national and international events, using these settings to build relationships, gather intelligence, and generate new opportunities
- Develop and strengthen institutional networks and partnerships aligned with CNPEM’s strategic priorities
- Contribute to the indicators, processes, and methodologies of the Scouting and Partnerships team, seeking to increase the effectiveness of converting relationships into concrete opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Exact Sciences, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, or a related field
- Advanced English proficiency
- Solid professional experience in innovation, business development, strategic partnerships, technology scouting, technology transfer, R&D and innovation, or corporate relations
- Ability to understand and translate technologies and scientific knowledge into application and partnership opportunities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including executives, researchers, technical professionals, and institutional representatives
- Analytical ability to assess opportunities, markets, partners, and trends
- Experience leading meetings and negotiations with external partners
- Willingness and availability to travel and attend events
- Preferred: Experience with science and technology institutions, research centers, universities, technology parks, or innovation ecosystems
- Preferred: Experience with projects involving EMBRAPII, FINEP, BNDES, Brazil’s Innovation Law, or other innovation instruments
- Preferred: Experience with open innovation and corporate innovation
- Preferred: Experience in technology-intensive sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, materials, biotechnology, agriculture, food, or advanced manufacturing
- Preferred: International experience and involvement in global innovation networks
- Preferred: Knowledge of innovation financing mechanisms and support instruments for R&D and innovation
- Preferred: Knowledge of intellectual property and technology transfer
- Preferred: Knowledge of CRM, market intelligence, and pipeline management tools
