About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work independently and collaboratively with a team to support and deliver assigned work activities
Manage an assigned team of project managers, including monitoring performance, conducting reviews and 1:1 meetings, mentoring and coaching, providing time-off coverage, tracking team growth, and managing team needs
Collaborate with Delivery Operations/Project Management Leadership to develop and update project management procedures and standardize delivery, reporting, and optimization across advisory projects
Leverage technology and automation to optimize workflows, drive innovation, and enhance operational efficiency
Create and update training materials and provide ongoing coaching to project managers
Work with Delivery Operations/Project Management Leadership to achieve utilization targets and other key performance metrics
Escalate client and project issues and identify high-risk clients
Collaborate with delivery operations, quality management, sales, and delivery teams to improve customer experience
Execute and control project management work and oversee assigned team performance on client engagements
Guide projects through proactive risk identification, mitigation, and issue management
Coordinate projects, including scheduling, task assignment, client communication, and issue escalation
Create and execute project work plans and revise them as needed
Lead project status meetings covering schedules, data requirements, and assignments
Communicate resource needs and collaborate with teams to assign responsibilities
Interface with clients throughout engagements and interact with multiple levels of client organizations
Establish and maintain positive, collaborative client relationships
Travel for client or internal needs as required, up to 25%

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of project management or equivalent job experience
5+ years of external client-facing experience in a consulting, professional services, technology, compliance, or related environment
5+ years of experience leading project managers, project management teams, or cross-functional delivery organizations, with demonstrated success as a player-coach
3+ years of experience adapting technology automations into process improvement strategies
Strong thought leadership in integrating process improvement strategies
Ability to proactively lead client and project escalation and ongoing risk management
Understanding of project/practice management best practices and proven success leading cross-functional project teams independently through the full project lifecycle
Excellent communication skills, including executive-level communication experience
Understanding of essential business practices of a project management team within a professional consulting organization
Strong presentation and organizational skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
Experience or familiarity with AI automation as a tool for process improvement
Consulting/professional services experience, familiarity with managing large and complex IT projects, cloud platform and compliance experience a plus
Strong understanding of security principles, policies, and industry best practices
Hybrid and Agile delivery methodology experience
Experience building and establishing PMO processes
Hands-on experience with Agile tooling suites such as Jira and Confluence
Experience with Smartsheet
Understanding of resource management best practices
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) strongly preferred
Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, CISM, Security+, AWS, or GCP cloud certifications preferred
