About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in managing a retail activity with sales less than $14M
  • Receive, stock, price, inventory, transfer, replenish, and warehouse merchandise
  • Assist customers and resolve complaints
  • Interview, hire, train, or direct training of assigned personnel
  • Coach and develop employees and provide growth opportunities
  • Assist in developing promotional sales
  • Work with vendors and others to execute department or merchandise operations
  • Ensure store recovery
  • Supervise vending and warehouse operations
  • Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection
  • Respond quickly to customer concerns
  • Serve as key carrier and open or close the store as required
  • Review monthly P&Ls and initiate corrective action when plans are not achieved
  • Direct and supervise employees and assume responsibility for the store in the manager’s absence
  • Ensure compliance with Loss Prevention policies and address shrink and Alert Line concerns
  • Ensure associates comply with safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have prior management experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a lead/supervisor in a retail environment or completion of the CGX ASM Training Program
  • Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Open availability, including weekends
  • Weekend and holiday availability required
  • Must be 21 years or older to apply
  • Preferred: prior retail merchandising experience
  • Preferred: P&L analysis experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Non-U.S. nationals applying for DHS positions must have resided in the United States or U.S. territories for at least three of the last five years
  • Must satisfactorily complete a Federal Background check and applicable pre-employment requirements
  • Males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years old must be registered with the Selective Service System unless exempt
  • Applicants may not be employed in the chain of command of their relatives
