About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct activities involved in operating a large laundry
Supervise Laundry Workers
Assign schedules and duties to laundry staff
Standardize laundry task methods
Ensure proper operation of equipment and correct chemical quantities
Recommend equipment, linen and chemical purchasing needs for budget preparation
Schedule preventive maintenance of laundry equipment
Clean dryer lint traps
Assist with recruitment and selection of laundry personnel
Help determine staffing requirements and ensure sufficient personnel are on duty
Train, monitor and evaluate laundry staff, volunteers and service workers
Recommend discipline and implement approved procedures
Conduct rounds and inspections to verify duties, procedures and quality-control measures
Perform all duties of Laundry Workers
Perform related duties as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a professional laundry
Working knowledge of the operation and care of commercial washers and dryers
Experience planning, organizing, supervising, inspecting and evaluating work of subordinates
Ability to stand continuously, stoop, bend, and walk
Requires constant movement of arms and hands
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance
Open availability including weekends
Must satisfactorily complete a Federal Background check and all pre-employment requirements
U.S. citizenship or valid authorization to work in the U.S.
Non-U.S. nationals authorized to work in the U.S. must have resided within the United States or U.S. territories for at least three of the last five years
Males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age must be registered with the Selective Service System unless exempt
Must participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer
Resume/application must be submitted in English
Preferred: Two years’ experience supervising a professional laundry or two years’ experience as a CGX Laundry Worker
