About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently manage a litigation caseload
- Develop case strategy and manage matters through various stages of litigation
- Conduct fact, plaintiff, and other depositions
- Assist with and/or take expert depositions
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial
- Draft and respond to discovery requests
- Review and analyze complex discovery materials
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Conduct sophisticated legal research and analysis
- Participate in trial preparation and provide trial support
- Collaborate with partners, associates, clients, experts, and other members of the litigation team
- Maintain accurate and timely billing records
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of litigation experience
- Experience in general litigation, complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the Massachusetts Bar
- Demonstrated experience with depositions and motion practice
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to independently manage cases and competing deadlines
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions preferred but not required
- Admission in additional states is a plus
- Eligibility to waive into additional jurisdictions may be supported by the firm
