About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct quality control audits on team workflow processes and timeliness
  • Prepare management summaries of QC reviews, observations, and recommendations
  • Independently process complex cases, including fraud rings, high-dollar, and high-risk cases
  • Identify AML review and documentation deficiencies, trends, and typologies
  • Recommend process enhancements based on QC data
  • Maintain knowledge of complex and high-risk banking products, MSBs, private ATM owners, MRBs, and BaaS partners
  • Partner with AML QC management and Risk Operations leadership on written procedures and processes
  • Assist with enterprise-wide policies, procedures, and risk assessments
  • Follow federal AML, BSA, and related regulatory requirements
  • Support Financial Crimes Compliance projects
  • Shadow and support junior analysts
  • Adhere to SLA timelines and Coastal Core Values
  • Assist with periodic quantitative and qualitative AML documentation analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and related regulations
  • Ability to explain AML, CIP, KYC, CDD, EDD, OFAC, and SAR concepts
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data
  • Ability to develop and improve systems, structures, and processes
  • Ability to observe strict confidentiality requirements
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, time-management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel capabilities
  • 3–5 years of previous financial institution experience with significant emphasis in AML compliance, consumer compliance, audit/bank operations, and/or equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years of audit, quality control/quality assurance, or equivalent experience preferred
  • CAMS, CFE, or other relevant certification
  • Advanced knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements
  • Ability to develop or enhance AML operating processes, including SAR filing
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work without employment sponsorship
