About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage with executive-level leaders at national and regional nonprofits to grow the customer base and win new-logo business
  • Create detailed business and territory plans to attain annual goals and quotas alongside the BDR team
  • Unearth new opportunities through outbound outreach and industry networking, including Dreamforce and NTC/NTEN
  • Manage the entire customer relationship lifecycle from prospecting through contract execution and project completion support
  • Lead discovery conversations covering nonprofit programmatic goals, fundraising hurdles, and constituent engagement objectives
  • Present Salesforce products, including Nonprofit Cloud and Grant Management, aligned with organizations’ theory of change and strategic plans
  • Provide professional after-sales support to strengthen customer relationships and long-term success
  • Maintain forecasting and pipeline management practices for leadership visibility
  • Mentor and grow junior Business Development resources and provide team oversight and support
  • Engage with Salesforce Nonprofit/HED RVPs and AEs to drive co-prime opportunities within the Salesforce.org ecosystem
  • Partner with Coastal Business Unit Leadership to align business development efforts with project delivery
  • Create estimates and SOWs accounting for nonprofit budget constraints, grant-dependent timelines, and compliance requirements
  • Create and deliver SOWs in line with the Coastal methodology, including scope, objectives, requirements, fees, and assumptions
  • Travel as needed to support sales cycles and close business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years proven expertise as a Salesforce Delivery Consultant or similar role
  • 5+ years of Sales experience is ideal, but candidates with less sales experience may be considered if they exhibit strong desire and enthusiasm for sales
  • Proven portfolio growth experience
  • Experience in the Salesforce Ecosystem
  • Ability to take ownership and actively drive sales pursuits
  • Commitment to building long-term customer relationships and winning business through trusted relationships
  • Consultative mindset with an understanding of nonprofit governance, board relations, and fundraising cycles
  • Understanding of and relationships within the Salesforce portfolio and solutions such as Mulesoft, Tableau, and Slack
  • Excellent communication, preparation, strategy, presentation, and execution skills
  • Ability to project manage a sales cycle collaboratively with pre-sales, delivery, SMEs, and industry professionals
  • Organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to complex grant or RFP processes
  • Experience with Salesforce, Zoominfo, and LinkedIn
  • Must have full-time permanent US work authorization
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience as a Salesforce Consultant, preferably at an implementation partner
