About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead multiple product development teams
- Deliver assigned projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards across the full product lifecycle
- Develop detailed project plans covering technical scope, schedules, budgets, and resource loading
- Manage project team assignments to meet milestones and deadlines
- Monitor labor, expense, and capital expenditures
- Provide concise monthly project reports to internal stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and cost risks
- Ensure adherence to the product development stage-gate process
- Schedule and lead weekly project meetings, monthly project reviews, and design and gate reviews
- Coordinate qualification and compliance testing to military standards and customer specifications
- Document meeting minutes and action items; maintain the project action register
- Review material purchases for budget adherence
- Track and report project execution KPIs and suggest efficiency improvements
- Oversee subcontractors and suppliers
- Manage transition of designs into production with contract manufacturers and component suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- U.S. citizenship required due to handling export-controlled materials
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
- Preferred: background in secure communications, sensor systems, or ground vehicle electronics
- Preferred: experience managing physical products through the full product development lifecycle, including production and customer delivery
- Preferred: experience with government customers, defense primes, or classified development programs
- Preferred: expertise working with external contract manufacturers and component manufacturers
- Preferred: experience in a small to medium-sized company
- Preferred: experience using project scheduling and tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira
