About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build the semantic layer of the Advisory Intelligence Platform, including measures, dimensions, and definitions
  • Design and build the signal layer that detects client changes
  • Build the reasoning layer, including calculations, names, definitions, and structure used by the Codat-side LLM
  • Build agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers behind the assistant
  • Develop tools, failure handling, and evaluations for the assistant
  • Build pipelines, services, and data models from raw source data to assistant-quoted numbers
  • Implement testing, observability, and evaluations to ensure data accuracy and prevent incorrect model outputs
  • Own systems from start to finish, including operating them after launch
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and commercial teams to influence product direction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Production systems built from scratch, writing code rather than configuring managed services
  • Experience serving data to an LLM and understanding ambiguous definitions, poor retrieval, and the need for evaluations
  • Experience working with, moving, shaping, and serving data
  • Solid C#, Python, or another backend language
  • Depth in at least one of SQL, Spark, Databricks/Delta Lake, Dagster/Airflow/Temporal, or dbt
  • Experience with CI/CD, Docker, cloud infrastructure, and observability
  • Azure cloud experience
  • Interest in the business implications of data and building guard-rails
  • Experience engineering one's own workflow with AI
  • Code testing practices
