About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and background checks from signed offer to last day
  • Keep Justworks and the employee roster accurate
  • Run the operating side of twice-yearly feedback cycles, compensation reviews, and new-hire onboarding
  • Administer benefits, open enrollment, and leaves of absence
  • Own I-9s, required postings and trainings, state registrations, handbook and policy updates
  • Partner with Security and the Facility Security Officer on compliance records
  • Help evaluate transition from PEO to HRIS, roll out new systems, and automate documented workflows
  • Build and maintain headcount, organizational, and program reports
  • Answer employee and manager questions, document processes, identify patterns, and address root causes
  • Report to the Director of People Operations and collaborate with Recruiting, Business Operations, Finance, IT, and Security

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years in People Operations or HR generalist roles, including time at a fast growing startup
  • Hands on experience running core HR/People operations on a PEO or HRIS
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment compliance across multiple states, including Massachusetts & California
  • Experience running execution for at least one people program end to end, such as open enrollment, a review cycle, or an onboarding program
  • Comfort in Google Sheets, reconciling data across systems and building reports, and storytelling with data
  • Strong judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Excellent verbal & written communications and a warm, clear, and accessible communication employee engagement style
  • U.S. work authorization
  • May require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance for certain assignments
