About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and scale highly concurrent backend applications and microservices using Elixir and Phoenix
Architect and implement resilient, distributed systems leveraging the BEAM ecosystem and OTP (GenServer, Supervisors, Tasks)
Design, build, and integrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Optimize database queries and schema models using Ecto with PostgreSQL and non-relational databases
Enforce code quality, maintainability, and test coverage through unit testing, integration testing, and rigorous code reviews
Partner with product managers, DevOps engineers, and frontend developers in an agile environment
Participate in high-level architectural discussions, system design, and establishing engineering best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software engineering experience in Backend Development, with at least 3+ years of active experience with Elixir
Deep proficiency in the Elixir ecosystem: Phoenix Framework, Ecto, and OTP
Solid understanding of functional programming concepts and design patterns
Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and mapping tools (Ecto)
Demonstrated experience designing and integrating APIs (REST, GraphQL)
Exposure to microservice architectures, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching layers (Redis)
Nice to have: Experience with Erlang
Nice to have: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
Nice to have: Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to have: Exposure to Phoenix LiveView
Nice to have: Open-source contributions within the Elixir / BEAM community
