About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and maintain robust end-to-end web applications
- Engineer responsive user interfaces and scalable back-end services in Python (Django) and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Drive migration initiatives from legacy systems (Zoho, Delphi, FoxPro) to modern decoupled web architectures
- Execute data migration, API integrations, and cutover activities
- Utilize modern AI coding assistant tools to design, build, test, and ship code
- Design RESTful APIs and optimize SQL queries across MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Integrate applications with core data platforms and interim legacy setups
- Mentor peer developers through pair programming, design reviews, and code quality standards
- Help legacy engineers cross-skill into modern full-stack methodologies
- Automate build and deployment pipelines using Git/Bitbucket Pipelines and Jira
- Ensure high test coverage, operational stability, and rapid production support
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering end-to-end web solutions across front-end and back-end environments
- Deep hands-on experience with Python (Django) and React
- Advanced expertise in SQL (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
- RESTful API design
- Track record of successfully migrating legacy systems to modern cloud setups
- Strong grasp of Git, automated CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines), Agile workflows (Jira)
- Exposure to Azure and Docker
- Proactive problem-solver comfortable interacting directly with business users
- End-to-end accountability for software outcomes
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Exceptional technical communication and articulation skills for seamless integration with North American teams
