About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD test automation pipelines and Python test suites for pre-commit pull-request testing and weekly regression runs
  • Automate environment provisioning, traffic generation, network diagnostics, and continuous regression testing across virtual and physical testbeds
  • Debug failed runs by analyzing device, system, and test logs; distinguish product bugs from test-suite or environment issues; and raise well-documented defects
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand delivered features and design test coverage
  • Extend test automation as new Routing-area features are delivered
  • Use AI-assisted root-cause analysis and LLM coding assistants for scripting, log analysis, and root-cause identification
  • Coordinate issue resolution with suite owners and development/test engineers through dedicated collaboration channels
  • Manage physical and virtual testbed environments and provision resources for test execution
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve flaky tests to maintain pipeline reliability
  • Own weekly regression runs and triage failures across large-scale CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong Python programming skills and deep hands-on experience with pytest, PTF (Packet Test Framework), sonic-mgmt, and Ansible
  • Solid background in CI/CD engineering and automated test orchestration
  • Solid networking knowledge with a focus on routing (BGP, OSPF, routing tables, VRFs, Layer 3 concepts) and working with SONiC routers
  • Understanding of router concepts: overlay architecture, policies, IPsec tunnels
  • Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills: reading logs, CLI-level investigation, and isolating root causes across product, test, and environment layers
  • Experience working closely with software development teams and translating delivered features into test scenarios
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in everyday engineering work
  • Experience with Docker
  • Good Linux command-line skills, including shell scripting and command-line tools
  • Good knowledge of English (B2+ level)
  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD platforms
  • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with Golang, C/C++, or Groovy
  • Nice-to-have: experience with SD-WAN
  • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with router solutions
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with Jenkins and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines
  • Nice-to-have: experience with physical or virtual network testbeds and virtual routers
  • Nice-to-have: experience with formal defect tracking systems
