Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements
Provide engineering support for production systems
Develop APIs in Scala
Contribute to software design, architecture, cloud architecture, and large-scale systems
Work on mission-critical technology solutions and meaningful projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Candidates must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. as a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD holder
Must already be authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship is offered
Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain it
7+ years of experience developing REST and gRPC APIs using Scala with Play/Akka
5+ years of experience working with relational and non-relational (NoSQL) databases
Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming
Proven experience with AWS architectures
Thorough understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and toolchains
Thorough understanding of performance monitoring and performance testing
Experience designing systems for performance
Experience with observability via Splunk, including log analysis and querying
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, accurate work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Preferred: familiarity with Drools BRE
Preferred: familiarity with Postman
Preferred: familiarity with DynamoDB
Preferred: experience implementing solutions for mission-critical systems
Preferred: ability to understand the big picture and integrate new solutions into existing platforms
Preferred: experience in federal government programs or regulated environments; CMS experience preferred
