Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, organize, and align internal and external resources cost-effectively to win and execute projects against the project schedule
Maintain and develop effective customer relationships before and after sale
Develop project schedules and track progress against milestones
Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders
Identify, create, and track documented project scope
Communicate scope changes to key stakeholders
Ensure project completion and customer acceptance through all project providers
Manage project documentation throughout the lifecycle
Provide documentation details to the service team or customer to set them up for success
Engage during the pre-sales phase of potential project lifecycles
Prepare accurately, assess risks, and deliver Cognex-designed integration solutions while meeting customer expectations for quality, delivery, and service
Support Cognex standards for growth and profitability

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA degree in a technical discipline (preferred) or relevant equivalent professional experience
Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a project manager within the service high-tech industry or for projects in a related field
Solid experience or familiarity with project management processes and PMI standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Customer relationship maintenance skills with the ability to influence through facts and fast action
Knowledge of industry segments and automation technology, including design for manufacturability, assembly, test, and manufacturing test development on industrial, electro-mechanical products
Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
Understanding of data analysis theory, project cost estimation, and profitability analysis
Project scheduling, scope management, risk management, and mitigation planning skills
Understanding of business process, order proceeding, and basic project-finance concepts
Ability to handle routine customer situations and escalate when necessary
Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Projects
Ability to rapidly learn new technology and understand new markets
Ability to be on-call and respond to customer emergencies
Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying work patterns depending on project needs
Ability to travel between 20–50% of the time
Must possess English language proficiency as a minimum for the role
Certifications related to project management are preferred (PMP, CSCP, etc.)
