About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop enterprise insurance software solutions
- Write clean, readable, and testable Java code
- Lead the technical design and development of features, applications, and systems
- Participate in peer code reviews
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues from client environments
- Collaborate with team members to reduce technical debt and improve overall architecture
- Mentor fellow developers and promote best practices and effective problem-solving
- Leverage AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle
- Make decisions reflecting the values and principles of the development team
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Over 5 years of experience in Java enterprise application development
- Demonstrated capability to lead technical projects and mentor junior developers
- Experience writing clean code and unit and integration tests
- Knowledge of web front-end development, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, HTML, and CSS
- Strong understanding of Git, Maven, Spring, and Docker
- Strong SQL background with the ability to write complex queries
- Experience and proficiency working with Linux
- Experience working within a team using Agile Methodologies (Kanban)
- Familiarity with MyBatis, ActiveMQ, WildFly, Alfresco Content Services (ACS), Solr, Redis, Jaspersoft, Selenium, Jenkins, and PL/SQL is a plus
