About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage U.S. international components of the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision process
- Prepare and review international tax calculations, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, and FIN 48 reserve
- Review foreign tax packages and support information for financial statement audits, income tax audits, and jurisdiction-specific tax examinations
- Support preparation of U.S. international tax return workpapers and compliance filings, including Forms 1118, 5471, 8858, and 926
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on tax-efficient structuring for business operations, expansion activities, and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with regional tax managers to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and regulatory submissions
- Drive process improvements in international tax compliance and reporting
- Assist in managing international tax projects and coordinating with external advisors
- Support tax planning initiatives and cross-functional assignments
- Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams while managing multiple deadlines and priorities
- Execute and maintain applicable ISO 9000, 9001, 14001, and other standards depending on location

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of international tax experience, preferably within a multinational corporation and/or a public accounting firm
- CPA certification preferred
- Hands-on experience with tax technology and compliance software, including CorpTax, preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical knowledge of US international tax rules
- Experience with financial and accounting systems
- Deep understanding of ASC740 and US GAAP concepts in a global organization
- Ability to read and interpret information accurately and concisely
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers
- Flexibility and commitment to strict reporting and tax deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
