About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a comprehensive global people operations and HR technology strategy
- Report to the Chief People Officer
- Oversee global HR shared services and all technology for the global HR group
- Lead the buildout, strategic planning, setup, and operationalization of Global Shared Service Centers
- Stabilize and enhance current GSSC operations and expand the services provided
- Identify and secure a location for a new center aligned with cost-saving, talent availability, and scalability objectives
- Develop talent strategies to attract, train, and retain GSSC professionals
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and HR teams on labor-law compliance and HR best practices
- Drive process automation, standardization, and continuous improvement within the GSSC
- Oversee global immigration via the GSSC
- Define and execute the enterprise HR technology strategy
- Integrate HR tools with the company HRIS to improve analytics, reporting, and efficiency
- Ensure HR systems comply with global data privacy and security standards
- Leverage automation and AI-based recruitment technologies
- Partner with IT and HR teams to improve HR technology infrastructure and workflows
- Develop talent dashboards and metrics
- Partner with executive leadership, regional HR teams, and business-unit leaders
- Establish and track KPIs for hiring, HR technology adoption, core HR measures, and GSSC efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in HR technology or a related HR leadership role within a global organization
- Experience implementing, developing, managing, and scaling a Global HR Business Service Center or HR shared service operations
- Experience designing and deploying enterprise-wide HR systems and technologies for talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, onboarding, compensation and benefits, executive onboarding, and global people operations, including AI-driven technologies
- Strong expertise in HR platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or similar
- Expertise developing dashboards, reporting, and metrics
- Deep understanding of global labor markets, talent mobility, and international compliance
- Experience in change management, process automation, and HR digital transformation
- Strong leadership experience managing and developing global teams
- Experience leading talent strategies during growth, transformation, or M&A
- Strong project management and execution skills across multiple business units, geographies, and HR teams
- Large-scale corporate communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced global organization and manage multiple priorities
- Must be onsite 3–4 days a week
- Must follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards
