Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct analysis and deep dives on ambiguous business problems
Produce insights and recommendations that guide team decision-making
Build, tune, or measure online and offline machine learning models and AI systems used across Coinbase
Own a broad scope of data and metrics, including definitions, core logging, and data visualization presentation
Guide code reviews and provide SQL and Python expertise
Create well-maintained ETL jobs
Maintain statistical rigor across the team
Design, execute, and improve experimentation and causal analyses
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to influence the roadmap and understand users

What you’ll need

BA/BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) with ≥5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a quantitative field with ≥3+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrated experience driving impactful data science projects addressing ambiguous problem spaces
Ability to influence external stakeholders by synthesizing data learnings into compelling stories
Practical expertise applying complex modeling frameworks to practical business problems
Professional experience using SQL and Python
Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle
Clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution
Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready analytical outputs and models
