About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own close protection operations for designated principals during routine activities, travel, and events
- Maintain constant situational awareness and proactively mitigate threats in real time
- Lead advance work including on-site assessments, venue surveys, route planning, contingency planning, EAPs, and CONOPS
- Partner with Protective Intelligence to integrate threat assessments, persons of interest, and geopolitical developments into security planning
- Coordinate security planning and on-site execution for executive offsites, media appearances, public engagements, and internal events
- Collaborate with event security, physical security, and third-party providers
- Build trusted relationships with principals, executive business partners, and family office staff
- Maintain professionalism, discretion, and clear professional boundaries
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in executive protection, dignitary protection, or high-threat protection
- Demonstrated success conducting protective advances, secure transportation, and close protection in complex or high-profile environments
- Military or law enforcement background
- Successful completion of a formal executive protection training course
- Current medical certifications (CPR/AED, TECC or higher)
- Ability to operate with discretion and composure when working with senior executives
- Ability to manage irregular schedules and rapid operational changes
- Approximately 50% domestic and international travel
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in defensive/security-oriented driving
- Ability to obtain and retain a California Guard Card and Exposed Firearms Permit (BSIS)
- Familiarity with protective intelligence workflows, threat assessment methodologies, and post-event after-action review processes
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
- Maximum of 3 applications within a 6-month period
