About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend services in a microservices and distributed architecture
Define internal and customer-facing APIs serving as building blocks for CDP, with clean design and high-quality developer experience
Lead end-to-end feature delivery from implementation through deployment and monitoring
Address technical debt and drive improvements in reliability and observability
Participate in code reviews and on-call rotation
Lead incident response
Foster a team environment that welcomes constructive feedback and maintains high code quality standards
Build core platform capabilities enabling businesses to launch and scale crypto products
Design and ship backend services and APIs enabling secure access to Coinbase’s crypto infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of professional experience building and maintaining production backend services in a microservices or distributed systems environment
Experience designing and shipping internal or customer-facing APIs with a focus on high-quality developer experience and clean interface design
Familiarity deploying and testing in microservice ecosystems, including structured observability and monitoring tooling
Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly in writing and in live discussions with cross-functional partners
Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
Ability to use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows
Continuous learning as generative AI tools evolve
Application limit of 3 applications within a 6-month period
