About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support day-to-day operations of Coinbase's global tax information reporting and withholding function
  • Analyze federal and international tax regulations and map tax laws into transaction systems across multi-venue products
  • Audit reporting inputs using large transaction datasets and identify discrepancies across product lines
  • Support preparation, quality assurance, and filing execution for US information returns including Form 1099-DA, Form 1042-S, and the 1099 series
  • Support international AEOI reporting frameworks including CARF, CRS, and DAC8
  • Partner with Tax, Engineering, and Product teams to design AI-driven solutions and automated workflows
  • Improve tax data processing, inquiry resolution, and operating procedures
  • Collaborate across Tax, Product, Platform, and Data teams to drive reporting accuracy and IRS filing readiness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong interest or curiosity in tax rules, regulatory frameworks, and compliance in the financial or tech sector
  • Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including manipulating, validating, and analyzing large datasets
  • Experience performing data quality checks or reconciliations through coursework, projects, or prior internships
  • Familiarity with SQL, Snowflake, Looker, or similar analytics tools through coursework or self-directed learning
  • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
  • Maximum of 3 applications within a 6-month period
