About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents
Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation
Help with mobility around the house or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks
Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals, and help with physical therapy exercises
Complete client shopping or accompany clients while shopping
Perform housekeeping duties and report unusual incidents
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies
Assist patients with meals and other activities essential for daily living
Work one-on-one with patients in their homes and communities as part of interdisciplinary treatment plans
Provide patient-centered care for neurological rehabilitation clients, including those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and complex orthopedic diagnoses

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation every single day
Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
Supportive and compassionate
High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
Take pride in providing high quality care
