About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and treat impairments, including lower extremity function, mobility, vestibular skills, adaptive equipment needs, and environmental safety needs
  • Provide patient-centered neurological rehabilitation in patients' homes and communities
  • Work one-on-one with patients to build functional skills
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create integrated treatment plans
  • Incorporate varied activities while addressing functional goals
  • Treat traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program required
  • Bachelor's or Master's in the same discipline preferred
  • Must be certified in the state of Georgia
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, standards, and practices
  • Knowledge of physical therapy equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA and infection control regulations required
  • Experience in the treatment of neurologically related physical disorders strongly preferred
  • Excellent planning, organizational, writing, and time management skills required
  • Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers
  • Valid driver's license required
