About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide speech-language pathology treatment for traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses
- Work with patients in their homes and communities
- Create and implement integrated treatment plans as part of interdisciplinary teams
- Evaluate and treat impairments involving speech and language, executive functioning, cognitive needs, dysphagia, and augmentative communication
- Provide patient-centered, evidence-based, individualized care
- Accept patients across the continuum from severe brain injury to job readiness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of Master’s degree in Speech Pathology
- State licensure is required
- Certificate of clinical competence from ASHA is required
- Experience in the treatment of neurologically related disorders is strongly preferred
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers
