About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide speech-language pathology services in patients’ homes and communities
- Evaluate and treat impairments involving speech and language
- Evaluate and treat executive functioning and cognitive needs
- Evaluate and treat dysphagia
- Address augmentative communication needs
- Create and implement integrated treatment plans with interdisciplinary teams
- Provide individualized, intensive, one-on-one treatment for patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses
- Accept patients for the duration of their stay
- Incorporate varied activities to address functional goals and support durable outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of Master’s degree in Speech Pathology
- State licensure is required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA is required
- Experience in the treatment of neurologically related disorders is strongly preferred
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers
- Part-time availability
- Ability to provide services in patients’ homes and communities
