About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and treat impairments involving speech and language
- Address executive functioning and cognitive needs
- Treat dysphagia
- Address augmentative communication needs
- Provide patient-centered, one-on-one treatment in patients’ homes and communities
- Develop and implement integrated treatment plans with interdisciplinary teams
- Use creative, evidence-based activities to address functional goals
- Accept and treat PRN patients for the duration of their stay
- Serve patients across the continuum from severe brain injury through job readiness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology
- State licensure is required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA is required
- Experience in the treatment of neurologically related disorders is strongly preferred
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers
- Experience working with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses is relevant to the role
