About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide patient-centered speech-language pathology care in patients’ homes and communities
- Evaluate and treat impairments involving speech and language, executive functioning, cognition, dysphagia, and augmentative communication
- Accept patients for the duration of their stay in PRN assignments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create integrated treatment plans
- Practice treatment plans in patients’ homes and communities
- Use creative, evidence-based activities to address functional goals and produce durable outcomes
- Treat patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of Master’s degree in Speech Pathology
- State licensure is required
- Certificate of clinical competence from ASHA is required
- Experience in the treatment of neurologically related disorders is strongly preferred
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time management skills are required
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers is required
