About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the supervisor with facility management and project planning
- Review contractor work for compliance with plans and specifications
- Develop facility maintenance policies and procedures
- Provide facility needs and estimated costs for budget planning
- Train, assign, review, and evaluate lower-level staff as assigned
- Complete work orders, projects, and verbal assignments in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and/or equipment mechanical trades
- Operate equipment according to procedures and safety precautions; report damaged or missing equipment
- Perform lockout/tagout as needed
- Travel between campuses, satellite locations, and vendors
- Perform day-to-day facility maintenance operations
- Complete preventative maintenance activities according to schedule
- Assist with daily equipment maintenance to ensure a safe work environment
- Provide daily work-order status updates in TMA
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more major building or mechanical trades
- Experience performing repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs, and ordering materials
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify
- Must successfully complete assigned safety training and other assigned training courses within the allotted time
- Must be able to travel between campuses and to vendors as required
- Must notify the Supervisor or Lead when assistance is needed or when unqualified to complete a task
- Must achieve an 85% or better success rate in two or more of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or equipment mechanical work
- Must be familiar with proper equipment operating procedures and safety precautions
- Must be able to work within NRS, NAC, Board of Regents, and College policies and procedures
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; CSN does not sponsor applicable H-1B visas absent exceptional circumstances
