About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and deliver chemistry coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways
- Teach courses according to the class schedule, approved course descriptions, and faculty-established syllabi
- Apply culturally responsive teaching and demonstrate knowledge of the teaching field
- Meet professional standards for faculty under college policies and procedures
- Teach at one or more college campuses or off-site locations, including possible evening and weekend programs
- Potentially teach Dual Credit courses
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in the discipline/qualifying field, or a Master’s degree in any discipline with 18 graduate hours in the discipline/qualifying field
- At least 3 graduate hours of coursework in organic chemistry
- For lab sections, Bachelor's degree in the discipline/qualifying field
- Qualifying transcripts must be attached to the application
- Candidates are subject to a criminal background check
- If selected for dual credit courses, an additional fingerprinting background check with the TX DPS is required
- Ability to perform duties on-site at a Collin College campus or other Collin College location
- Teaching experience is desired
