About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and deliver computer science coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways
- Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes
- Follow approved course descriptions and syllabi established by Division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director
- Teach assignments on one or more college campuses or off-site locations
- Teach evening and weekend programs when assigned
- Potentially teach Dual Credit courses
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values
- Perform all duties on-site; remote or telecommuting arrangements are not permitted except for narrow statutory exceptions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree in computer science or a Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in a discipline/qualifying field
- Candidates must attach qualifying/conferred transcripts; applications without appropriate transcripts will be deemed incomplete and not considered
- Required materials, including licenses and certifications if applicable, must be attached
- Candidates will be subject to a criminal background check
- Dual credit assignments require an additional fingerprinting background check with the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Teaching experience is desired
- Ability to teach courses according to approved course descriptions, syllabi, schedules, college policies, procedures, and standards
- Ability to perform duties on-site at a Collin College campus or other Collin College location
- Availability may include evening and weekend programs
- Ability to teach on one or more campuses or off-site locations
- Faculty must meet professional standards and demonstrate knowledge of the teaching field, culturally responsive teaching, and engaging, innovative, discipline-appropriate instruction
