About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop and maintain test automation frameworks from scratch or extend existing ones
Define and uphold standards for test quality
Write maintainable integration and end-to-end tests
Build reusable test utilities, mocks and simulators
Contribute to test strategy for products or services
Partner with engineers, product managers and delivery leads to embed quality early in the SDLC
Design and oversee test strategies combining automation, exploratory testing and regression coverage
Integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines
Own the structure and health of test suites and regression packs
Test front-end, back-end, API and distributed microservices using Playwright, Cypress, Postman, RestAssured and other modern frameworks
Perform and organise performance testing using K6 and JMeter
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test cross-squad functionality and integration
Investigate issues, write tests, support manual QA and sign off changes
Investigate defects and production issues and validate fixes through automation

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years' experience in Test Automation
Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks and API testing tools
Confident writing automated tests in TypeScript
Expertise designing and executing end-to-end test strategies aligned with Agile delivery
Experience embedding quality early in the SDLC
Experience working in agile continuous delivery teams
Computer Science or Information Technology degree, diploma or similar (desirable)
CSTAE or ASTQB ISTQB Advanced Certification (desirable)
Certified Automation Tester certification, such as Cypress or Playwright (desirable)
Familiarity with pipeline and event-driven systems including Kafka, AWS EventBridge, AWS Step Functions, queues, streams and SnapLogic (desirable)
