About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage or assist with management of a predetermined portfolio of existing client relationships
- Handle new credit, renewals, modifications, covenant compliance, and financial monitoring and reporting
- Assist Relationship Managers with client and prospect loan needs
- Perform financial spreads, prepare term sheets, commitment letters, and documentation/closing materials
- Underwrite new credit requests, including more complex loans with limited assistance and additional oversight
- Conduct renewals and modifications
- Perform financial monitoring and reporting, covenant compliance, and quarterly risk ratings
- Ensure bank loan documentation is accurate and the Bank’s security interest in collateral is perfected
- Ensure timely processing of credit requests and renewals
- Analyze and complete term loan reviews
- Perform ongoing loan administration and file maintenance
- Collect financial statements with support from the primary Relationship Manager
- Keep hardcopy and digital bank loan files updated, organized, and complete
- Perform written and verbal communication tasks to complete assigned projects
- Cross-sell and deepen client relationships
- Comply with bank regulations, policies, procedures, and required training
- Maintain working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations
- Coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert when requested
- Foster Columbia corporate culture and support the vision to become “Business Bank of Choice”
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 years of industry work experience (Required)
- 2 years of previous portfolio management experience (Preferred)
- Thorough understanding of and ability to interpret complex accounting literature and accounting pronouncements, regulations, practice, and theory
- Ability to apply accounting knowledge to day-to-day activities
- Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Effective team player
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of and compliance with all bank credit policies and procedures
- General understanding of commercial and real estate underwriting
- Ability to engage and develop relationships with all internal bank departments
- Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s)
