About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain acceptable Effectiveness Collection Percentages on NPA delinquent accounts
- Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve delinquent contracts
- Use internal and external resources to establish contact, identify resolution courses, protect the Company’s interest, and execute resolution plans timely
- Maintain productivity levels, including assigned call volumes, to service the portfolio
- Communicate with lessees 91–120 days past due by telephone, mail, and personal contact
- Demonstrate strong telephone customer service skills
- Meet and exceed collection goals, specifically NPA goals
- Make resolution arrangements when accepting less than total due
- Assist with negotiating and resolving insurance issues on delinquent 91–120 day accounts
- Ensure collection of late charges and miscellaneous fees as appropriate
- Maintain complete and accurate collection notes
- Prepare repossession authorization packets
- Perform assigned call volumes professionally
- Perform extensions, rewrites, purchase agreements, and forbearance agreements within authority or with management approval
- Prepare files for Attorney Demand Letters/Litigation packets
- Prepare Settlement packets including FMVs and Credit Bureau Requests
- Maintain knowledge of and adherence to UDAAP and FDCPA requirements
- Notify supervisors or managers of significant situations that may cause company harm or loss
- Provide customer service to lessees, vendors, brokers, and staff
- Maintain confidentiality of company information
- Develop positive relationships with company managers and staff; assist other staff as needed
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
- Comply with bank regulations, policies, procedures, and required training
- Maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations
- May coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert
- Foster Columbia’s corporate culture and support its vision to become “Business Bank of Choice”
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous collections experience required
- Collection experience in a leasing/contract environment or equivalent preferred
- Data entry skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems
- Ability to build relationships with associates
- Ability to think critically and provide appropriate solutions
- Reading, writing, and basic math skills
- Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s)
