About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Pursue business development opportunities to establish, maintain, and build relationships with high-net-worth clients
- Develop new business opportunities and generate leads
- Build client teams by partnering with product specialists to provide comprehensive financial advice and planning
- Develop new relationships through client referrals, Centers of Influence, community involvement, and internal partners
- Assess Private Bank clients' needs and provide tailored advice across investments, trust and wealth transfer, credit, deposits, and other services
- Lead client teams in planning, delivery, and regular client reviews
- Maintain frequent personal contact and open communication with clients and internal teams
- Communicate proactively with clients about current financial market conditions
- Analyze clients' financial needs and monitor ongoing financial and personal circumstances
- Identify additional opportunities from existing clients and leverage internal resources to become the client's lead or sole provider
- Coordinate preparation of client presentation and review materials
- Maintain current client financial information and explain provided solutions
- Communicate with clients and risk areas, particularly the Credit team for borrowing relationships
- Comply with bank regulations, policies, procedures, and required training
- Maintain working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations
- Coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert when requested
- Learn and foster Columbia's corporate culture and serve as a positive example
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional financial experience, required
- More than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, required
- Must register as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) in compliance with SAFE Act requirements
- Position limited to acting as a Bank MLO for open-ended transactions only
- Extensive credit and analytical skills with ability to manage the most complex portfolios
- Knowledge of bank products and services
- Involvement in community organizations
- Ability to train and present to small and large audiences of senior and executive-level professionals
- Proven business development, relationship and portfolio management, private banking, and wealth management skills
- Intermediate estate planning, tax, and advanced investment management skills
- Occasional travel
- Master's Degree, preferred
- CFP, CIMA, CPWA, ChFC, CTFA, CPA, CFA, CWS, or AWMA certification, preferred
- Series 7 and Series 66, or Series 7 and Series 63 and 65, preferred
- Insurance license, preferred
