About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a Virtual Commercial Relationship Banker for new and existing commercial banking clients with revenues between $1 million and $20 million
  • Manage and maintain an existing commercial portfolio of up to 250 relationships
  • Develop and grow client portfolios by building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Engage CEO- and CFO-level clients to assess holistic banking needs and provide customized banking insights and solutions
  • Lead, direct, and coordinate key team members in analysis and execution for delivery of products and services
  • Deliver high-touch servicing, maintenance, and sales production through digital channels
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and high-touch weekly, monthly, and quarterly client connections
  • Prospect new relationships using internal contact lists and generate new commercial banking business
  • Refer clients to internal cross-markets and leverage bank solutions
  • Review and analyze personal and business financial data to understand client needs
  • Achieve annual production and growth goals for deposits, fees, and loans
  • Build client referral pipelines through internal and external centers of influence
  • Develop business knowledge and credit acumen across lending, deposit products, and services
  • Promote and cross-market bank products and services and identify opportunities to deepen relationships
  • Serve as team lead when designated and direct the work of others
  • Participate in community organizations to source business development opportunities and support local networking
  • Build and manage a production pipeline using Salesforce
  • Maintain compliance with banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, and Regulation E
  • Coach, mentor, train, and teach coursework as a subject matter expert when requested
  • Foster Columbia’s corporate culture and support the vision to become “Business Bank of Choice”
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • More than 10 years of relevant commercial banking experience or equivalent (Required)
  • Extremely strong relationship management skills, including new business development, analytical thinking, problem solving, strong sales skills, and advanced credit and credit quality skills
  • Strong knowledge of bank credit products and underwriting policies
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial C&I bank products and services
  • Proven track record developing new revenue for existing clients and retaining portfolios
  • Strong credit analysis and commercial underwriting skills, including accounting, financial statement, and cash flow analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of cash management policies, procedures, practices, banking regulations, documentation, and business operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and direct the work of others
  • Proficiency with personal computers and software such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences
  • Occasional travel required
  • Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s)
  • Compliance with applicable bank regulations, policies, procedures, and required training
