About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assemble, configure, test and repair electric chain hoists using instructions, wiring diagrams and drawings
  • Perform final product inspections before dispatch and complete product checklists
  • Fit handles, hooks, chain bags, pendants and other hoist components
  • Support internal colleagues with technical enquiries about specifications, use, applications, damage, faults and warranties
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product quality, safety and efficiency problems
  • Develop standard operating procedures and ensure adherence in the assembly bay
  • Maintain a clean and tidy 5S workshop and participate in EHS, 5S, Lean and cleaning projects
  • Support cycle counts, stock takes and manufacturing layout or storage changes
  • Contribute to general warehouse operations and perform other duties within the role's scope

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Time served electrical and/or mechanical fitter (preferred but not essential)
  • HNC qualification or certified trade apprenticeship
  • Minimum grade 5/C or higher in both Maths and English at GCSE
  • Relevant NVQ or EAL safety/competency certifications
  • LOLER competent person (desirable)
  • Extensive experience in panel and machine wiring
  • Ability to work confidently from electrical drawings
  • Experience with fault finding and repairs of electro-mechanical equipment
  • Demonstrable health and safety, technical and regulatory knowledge
  • Knowledge of lifting equipment preferable
  • Effective workload and task prioritisation
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to train and become a fire warden/member of the fire team
  • Adherence to legal and Company health and safety and quality policies/procedures
