About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Formulate business plans and strategies to grow overall sales revenue and market share
  • Engage in consultative selling, with an emphasis on large end-user accounts
  • Implement commercial business programs, targeted marketing programs, promotions, training programs, and product launches
  • Develop distributor relationships and maintain customer contact at key strategic end-user accounts
  • Sell powered and manual hoists, rigging equipment, and engineered products
  • Cover the assigned geographic sales territory and maintain relationships with channel partners and end users
  • Analyze target account requirements and develop account penetration plans
  • Develop distributor relationships at all organizational levels
  • Utilize company resources to provide customers with technical expertise
  • Resolve territory issues involving marketing, pricing, products, warranties, and product modifications
  • Measure distributor performance and implement performance improvement programs
  • Manage new product launches and promotional programs through the channel
  • Report competitor trends and strategies to Sales Management
  • Participate in formal and informal training opportunities
  • Coach distribution personnel and evaluate their competency in supporting company brands, products, and services
  • Provide input on the sales opportunity funnel and sales forecasts
  • Maintain distributor capabilities to serve customers in the assigned geography
  • Deliver sales workshops as needed
  • Differentiate company products and services from those of competitors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred
  • 5+ years of field sales experience
  • More than 50% travel required, including driving and air travel
  • Must reside within the assigned territory
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of rigging and engineered products
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with channel partners and end users
