About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate part availability, machine requirements, and staffing requirements
  • Coordinate with Sales on customer order due dates
  • Maintain the Kanban or inventory system on the production floor
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers to release inventory replenishment orders
  • Manage excess and obsolete inventory
  • Manage inventory levels, release replenishment orders, maintain Kanban cards, and perform cycle counting
  • Process Sales orders for cell operators, initiate jobs, verify part availability, distribute color-coded copies and cut-sheets, and perform e-packet duties
  • Respond to inquiries about delivery dates, order changes, and late shipments
  • Assist the Production Manager in consistent inventory management practices and streamlining order flow
  • Coordinate shop orders and customer orders related to Engineered-To-Order products
  • Provide backup support for other Production Planners
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in the flow of sales orders to the production floor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highschool Graduate or GED Required
  • Bachelor degree in Production/Operations Management preferred
  • Experience with Epicor ERP System is a plus
  • 3+ Years in manufacturing environment with production control, inventory control, or purchasing experience preferred
  • APICS training/certification preferred
  • Experience reading blue prints preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and approach tasks with a sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse workforce
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications
