About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the full lifecycle of NIGMS grant programs
  • Manage, coordinate, develop, and maintain annual grant portfolios
  • Provide administrative support for grant application review
  • Review annual progress reports and new grants for policy and regulatory compliance
  • Interpret and prepare guidance on statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Support grant programs, projects, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
  • Evaluate competing and non-competing grant applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Draft correspondence regarding administrative and management issues
  • Communicate with grantee institutions, Program Officers, and Sponsored Research Administrators
  • Maintain official grant files and upload electronic documents into IMPAC II
  • Create and edit spreadsheets, correspondence, template forms, terms packages, and reports
  • Pull and analyze workload data from existing systems
  • Advise staff, applicants, and grantees on grants administration and business management
  • Support pre-award and post-award activities, including preparing grant awards
  • Assemble documentation for selected grant applications
  • Conduct administrative and financial reviews
  • Prepare and analyze grant budgets for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness
  • Resolve grant-related issues with scientific, administrative, and grantee-organization personnel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree
  • Relevant skills in grants management and MS Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Work performed in accordance with NIH, NIGMS, and HHS policies and procedures
  • Collaboration with NIGMS staff is required
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
