About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support and maintain over 100 software applications deployed on IV&V workstations and VDI
- Create, modify, optimize, test, and troubleshoot MSI packages and MST transforms
- Convert .exe setups and legacy installations into silent-install MSI packages using capture tools such as Repackager
- Develop custom installation actions using PowerShell and VBScript
- Debug installation errors, analyze logs, resolve file and registry conflicts, and test packages on clean virtual machines
- Edit and validate MSI databases using AdminStudio and eliminate ICE errors
- Administer, update, and maintain virtual and physical KACE SMA appliances
- Manage KACE Agent deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle across network-connected devices
- Package, test, and remotely deploy applications and scripts through KACE
- Design KACE execution logic using Verify and Remediation parameters
- Perform discovery scans, inventory assets, track software usage, reconcile licenses, and generate compliance audits
- Build Smart Labels using advanced filtering and LDAP queries
- Create SQL and wizard-generated reports covering hardware lifecycles, patch levels, and software compliance
- Configure and optimize KACE Service Desk workflows, queues, and knowledge bases
- Maintain BigFix servers, relays, and database components
- Monitor system health, optimize relay hierarchies, troubleshoot agents, and resolve deployment failures
- Develop and test BigFix Fixlets and tasks for software deployments
- Manage third-party application updates and generate compliance reports
- Manage SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, metadata, and item-level permissions
- Manage Power Automate workflows and integrate SharePoint, Power Apps, and REST APIs
- Monitor workflow histories and resolve integration errors
- Monitor NASA SOC MAR announcements and mitigate required vulnerabilities
- Perform daily system and patch compliance checks
- Attend bi-weekly CSET BigFix meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a US Citizen
- Must work fully onsite in Fairmont, WV
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in Windows application packaging and software distribution
- Proficiency with Flexera AdminStudio
- 3+ years of experience with PowerShell and VBScript
- 3+ years of experience in web application development and maintenance
- 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining Power Automate workflows
- Deep administrative understanding of Windows Server/Client platforms, Active Directory/GPOs, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP
- Highly proficient in PowerShell, VBScript, or Bash scripting for custom KACE scripts
- 3+ years of direct, hands-on administration experience with Quest KACE SMA (K1000) Administrator Console and BigFix administration
- Proficient in writing custom Relevance queries
- Experienced in creating BigFix Action Scripts
- Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server administration related to BigFix
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent cross-departmental communication and collaboration skills
- Disciplined approach to Change Management
- Ability to independently manage and prioritize individual and team workloads
- Excellent customer service, oral communication, and written communication skills
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Automate is desired
