About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the first point of contact for internal technology support requests
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues
- Provide remote technical assistance for Windows-based computers, peripherals, and end-user technology
- Deliver timely, professional, and customer-focused technical support
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access requests
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, access changes, and equipment coordination
- Assist with workstation configuration, deployment, and remote hardware support
- Coordinate with approved technology vendors for equipment repair or replacement
- Maintain accurate technology asset inventory and lifecycle records
- Document, prioritize, track, and resolve technical support requests using the help desk system
- Provide timely updates to employees regarding issue resolution
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate
- Follow established service standards and technical support procedures
- Create and maintain internal technical documentation and knowledge resources
- Collaborate with IT team members and vendors to resolve technical issues
- Participate in team meetings, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve technical support processes and the employee experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience providing technical support or troubleshooting Microsoft Windows-based systems
- Experience diagnosing and resolving common hardware, software, and end-user technology issues
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Ability to independently manage multiple support requests, prioritize tasks, and meet established service expectations
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining confidential information
- Reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace suitable for providing remote technical support
- Preferred: Vocational or technical degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Preferred: CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) certification
- Preferred: CompTIA A+ certification (completed or in progress)
- Preferred: Google IT Support Professional Certificate
- Preferred: Experience supporting employees in a remote or distributed work environment
- Preferred: Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems, user account administration, and IT asset management
