About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and execute global supply chain strategies integrated with CFS design teams and partner functions
- Drive powerplant value engineering, cost reductions, technology selection, and increased technology readiness of fusion hardware
- Develop techno-economic models and inputs for future powerplants
- Provide feedback to R&D and engineering teams on cost and levelized cost of electricity levers
- Advise Supply Chain, Open Innovation, Government Affairs, and C-Suite teams on acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and supply chain strategies
- Track the global fusion industry, market participants, technologies, and trends
- Develop and lead category and commodity strategies, including spend analysis, benchmarking, cost and market analysis, supplier selection, and contracting
- Support customers, sponsors, partners, and investors in diligence processes
- Support scope, budget, and schedule development for new projects
- Raise execution or design concerns with supporting rationale or data
- Support Investor Relations, Business Development, Corporate Finance, and Engineering teams with queries and reports
- Develop and execute annual and strategic plans with commodity strategies
- Execute strategies aligned with business growth and new product introductions
- Build relationships with key supplier leadership
- Align Engineering, Technology, Business, Operations, Finance, and Quality functions
- Manage sourcing processes and supplier performance
- Prepare briefing materials, technical reports, and public-facing presentations
- Drive continuous improvement and functional transformation
- Monitor strategic supplier health, risks, and countermeasures
- Conduct supplier business reviews, site surveys, and business evaluations
- Escalate and resolve supplier corrective actions and sourcing issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 15+ years minimum experience managing supply chains in raw materials, metals, machined components, welding and fabrication, and/or contracted assemblies
- High finance acumen to understand a company's financial structure and strategize contract incentives
- Extensive technical knowledge of contracting for long lead time items based on project milestones
- Must be able to travel 25%–50% of the time and to remote sites
- Experience in sourcing for both R&D prototypes and ongoing production
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen a culture of inclusion
- Ability to generate work plans, define milestones, and contribute to process improvement
- Strong organizational abilities to manage varied cases and scenarios
- Ability to map and understand complex interconnected systems
- Exceptional attention to detail across multiple systems
- Reliable and persistent work ethic
- Ability to adapt modeling from rough estimates to detailed project specifications

- Ability to work in facilities containing industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
- Bonus: Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formation, or strategic partnership framework development
