About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Southern California region as a System Performance Engineer
- Perform repeater commissioning and optimization
- Perform DAS commissioning and optimization
- Conduct site surveys
- Perform benchmark and post-installation data collection
- Troubleshoot basic systems
- Pack systems data according to existing standards
- Provide customer service
- Create weekly reports and updates
- Create rack elevations and fiber diagrams
- Perform pre-design CW testing
- Set up remote access and alarming for repeaters and DAS
- Learn and follow WSP commissioning standards
- Apply RF math to understand DAS design, commissioning, and optimization
- Work in paired responsibility with a System Performance Engineer and progress toward completing projects independently
Requirements
What you’ll need- Entry-level or junior position with on-the-job training
- Basic Knowledge of Computers
- 1 year in a wireless or other technology related field
- High school + 2 Years Technical or equivalent
- Working towards a degree
- Basic understanding of standard test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, OTDRs, VFL, Power Meters, Transmitters, and Scanning Receivers
- Current understanding of DAS OEM topologies, including Corning MobileAccess, Commscope, Solid, TE, Teko, Dali, Zinwave, ADRF, and CSI
- Learning wireless technologies such as GSM, CDMA, EVDO, UMTS, LTE, and WiFi
- Ability to perform regional travel 90% in the field
