About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute CFBNJ’s food and health strategy
- Implement, manage, and expand community health and nutrition programming
- Lead Food is Medicine (FiM) program planning, implementation, evaluation, and grant requirements
- Oversee FiM services including medically tailored groceries, medically tailored meals, produce prescriptions, food farmacies, and healthcare-linked programs
- Develop and review product selections, menus, and recipes to meet program-specific nutrition requirements
- Translate nutrition requirements into specifications for food sourcing operations
- Identify expansion opportunities through healthcare partnerships, grants, and other funding models
- Oversee organization-wide Nutrition Policy implementation
- Monitor nutrition-ranking inventory trends and advise the Food Sourcing team
- Develop Nutrition Policy training for network partners and collaborate with Engagement and Fulfillment teams
- Support program funding, financial accounting, and required reporting with Resource Development and Finance teams
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with statewide alliances, hospitals, and healthcare locations
- Support the design and implementation of a dietetic internship program
- Integrate community health and nutrition strategies into program development, marketing, communications, advocacy, and healthcare quality improvement
- Lead and direct individuals across multiple functional areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of experience leading a community outreach team involving program management and/or project management
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science/Dietetics or related field
- Registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) credential required
- Demonstrated experience establishing and/or expanding nutrition programs with a large population and/or statewide focus
- Experience with federal or state budget oversight and grants management/reporting
- Experience working with diverse populations, including African-American, Hispanic, senior, and youth communities
- Experience in food insecurity, diet-related chronic diseases, or public health
- Experience working in or collaborating with healthcare institutions preferred
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends
- Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
- Technical aptitude with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to utilize data management systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team across all organizational levels
- Detail-oriented with strong time management
- Must successfully complete and stay up to date with ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate following hiring
- Bi-lingual language skills is a plus
