About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide the building and shipping of AI tools for testing and refinement within Community Solutions’ network of 170+ communities
- Inform strategy for moving high-impact AI prototypes into adoption across the network
- Apply principles around AI use while keeping a human in the decision loop and protecting people’s dignity and data
- Review AI tools throughout development and deployment to control for bias
- Determine optimal strategies for developing and testing AI tools and prototypes
- Own the technical architecture for the AI portfolio
- Decide what to build in-house versus partner on or contract out
- Establish privacy-safe, local deployment approaches for tools touching client data
- Refine high-impact products with the in-house development team and development partners
- Manage technology partner relationships and pursue corporate AI programs, accelerators, and philanthropy opportunities
- Track the AI-for-good landscape and act on time-sensitive opportunities
- Carry key build and implementation relationships directly
- Oversee pilot testing with partner communities, gather feedback, and determine scale strategies
- Translate tools into practitioner-accessible documentation and training
- Develop the go-to-market strategy budget and present recommendations to the Executive Team and Board of Directors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated ability to build with current AI tools and ship working software
- Comfort across the stack, APIs, prototyping, and data work
- Familiarity with model deployment, security, and compliance is a strong plus
- Track record of product judgment and knowing what is worth building
- Experience managing partnerships with external organizations, ideally including technology or funding partners
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving situations
- Commitment to Community Solutions’ mission
- Familiarity with homelessness or human services; data is a plus, or ability to learn it quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work credibly with field users, technology partners, and funders
